Shading Pixels

This was a requested tutorial on how to shade pixels. I shade pixels two different ways. Sometimes I use a soft brush, and sometimes I use a hard pixel. I'll show you the results of using the soft brush! First, you should go to my tutorial and make that panda bear.

1 Make sure you have that bear pixel saved (or any pixel), and go to Open >> blahblah wherever your file is.
2 Now, it's important that we're working in a .PSD file, so press CTRL + A and then go to New > File and open up a new file and then press CTRL + V.
3 If you have multiple layers on your psd file right now, this is the time to flatten them. Press CTRL + E until there is only one layer left.
4 Now, take the Magic Wand tool and select the area you want to start shading.

5 Now, create a new layer, and also pick a greyish foreground color. (Or whatever color you want the shade to be.. Pick your color and pick a darker tone for this.)
6 Now, either pick a soft brush or a hard pencil and just shade where you find necessary.
7 You'll notice that the shading is a bit dark, so since you colored on the new layer, you can now adjust the opacity to whatever you want to make it look good!
I hope this tutorial helped you on shading with pixels!
